Problemy zmęczenia cieplnego metali

The main problems of thermal fatigue of metals are presented in the paper. Physical and phenomenological aspects of the phenomenon are discussed as well as the different failure criteria of structural components operating under thermal and mechanical fatigue and isothermal creep conditions. Validity and application conditions of these criteria are also discussed as well as the failure criterion proposed by the author. The failure criterion is based on specific strain work. The paper also provided information on the methods for assessment of both the durability and the damage of structural components including the methods proposed by the author based on creep test results as well as acoustic emission measurement.
