Pomiary elektromagnetyczne w mechanice ciała stałego

Leif Jilken, Jan Backlund

Since Joule discovered magnetostriction in 1842 and Villari reverse phenomenon in 1865, researchers working with experimental me.thods in solid mechanics have tried to utilize these effects for determining various quantities and states in solids. Paramount problems in this context have been the nonlinear and hysteresis behaviour of magnetomechanical coupling effects. Some of these obstacles have now been overcome. This paper explains how electromagnetic flux can be used to extract information on the state of stress, the occurrence of yielding, the accumulation of fatigue damage and the onset of crack growth in ferromagnetic solids.
